I’m one of those people that fall off the band wagon pretty quickly with their new year resolutions. This year, I’ve decided to not make resolutions per se but rather generic goals instead. My goal isn’t to lose weight but to just move my body. What that looks like I’m not sure, but I’ll figure it out. Right now I’m thinking going for a walk, stretching, or maybe actually working out but we’ll see! My next goal is to leave the country. I’m not sure of the legitimacy of a quarter life crisis (I’ll be 25 next year) but my dream has always been to travel the world, and that starts next year! Since I’ve already accomplished my goals that I had previously set for my 25th birthday (finishing college, moving out of my parents, and it wasn’t a goal but added bonus, I got married). I just recently got a new passport post marriage and now it’s time to use it! Although the first step is getting my husbands passport replaced since his is lost in another state. I’m not sure where I want to travel to first or what all that entails, but I have a while to figure it out.
Finally, I’ve never actually done this before, but I have a word for the year! I always read friends words for the year and their reasonings for it, but I never actually choose one for myself. So for 2018, my word is love. It feels kind of lame but it’s perfect for this season of my life. I want to love Jesus again, love my husband, love my friends, love my family, and love myself. This blog is the perfect platform also to keep track of progress, happenings, and memories that are to come next year.
Edited to add another goal of reading more! For the last two years I’ve kept a list of every book I finished and every year I’m trying to read more books than the previous year. In 2016 I read five books and in 2017 I read six. It’s not much, but it’s what worked for me. Here’s to accomplishing goals in 2018!
