On our trip we stayed the first night in Johnson City, Texas at the Exotic Zoo Resort. The resort was really a neat place! We stayed in a cabin where we were the ones fenced in while the animals roamed freely on their many acres. The resort had a pool, petting zoo, and was really overall very peaceful. We got a bucket of feed for $6 and fed the deer, kangaroo, donkey, etc. all either through the fence or in the little petting area right by the cabin we were staying in. The next morning we got up early and went on the offered safari with another bucket of feed. It was really neat! Unfortunately there were too many people on our tour so I didn’t get to kiss the camel, but maybe next time. After the safari we checked out and headed to our next destination the Luckenbach, Texas Post Office. Luckenbach actually has a funny story being when we left we went a back road to Kerrville and ended up making a big circle on the scariest road we had ever been on. The road was one lane, deserted, dirt, full of steep and sharp hills and turns, and had no cell service for GPS. It was ridiculous and hilarious! When the road finally ended we were confused and back in Luckenbach (thank God because by this point I was about to pee my pants) and then we asked for directions (that had civilization) and basically went all the way back to Johnson City to start again. We ended the trip stopping at James Avery in Kerrville and then shopping at the outlets in San Marcus. My family is weird and unconventional but we had a great time.
